Kari Lake calls RFK Jr. ‘a perfect addition to our movement’

Republican Kari Lake, who’s running for Senate in Arizona, said former presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is a “perfect addition” to the MAGA movement and welcomed his endorsement of former President Trump’s White House bid.

“This just shows you how welcoming our movement is — America First, the MAGA movement, whatever you want to call it — we welcome everybody,” Lake said in an interview on NewsNation’s “The Hill Sunday” when asked about Kennedy’s endorsement of the former president.

“This is not called the ‘Republican First movement.’ It’s called the ‘America First movement.’ And so when he decided to step out and jump in and endorse President Trump, he is welcome with open arms,” she continued.

Lake described the movement behind Trump’s campaign as focused on national security, safety and quality education for children. She said that Kennedy’s support only enhances that platform.

“He added a couple of things that I thought were important. It’s about making America healthy again, making our children safe again. And so, I think it’s a perfect addition to our movement, and we welcome him,” she added.

The interview comes after Kennedy announced he would suspend his campaign and endorse Trump. Kennedy, who was running as an independent by the end of his campaign, began by challenging President Biden for the Democratic nomination.
